PeoplePC Selected to Provide Key Technology Solutions for New Yahoo Japan Broadband Service; PeoplePC to Help Yahoo Japan Wire Subscribers by Year-End

SAN FRANCISCO, Sep 26, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- PeoplePC (Nasdaq:PEOP), the company that makes it easy and affordable to get online, announced today it has been selected to provide key technology and implementation solutions for Yahoo Japan Corporation's new Internet broadband services, which will be offered in major Japanese cities this year. The new product, "Yahoo! BB," offers a high-speed Internet connection service over personal ADSL access lines and a portal service with broadband content for members. PeoplePC will be supplying the technology and automated processes for the easy and efficient installation of the service for members.
The PeoplePC tools streamline the entire process of implementing customers' orders and getting the ADSL (asymmetrical digital subscriber line) product up and running, from the preparation of the subscriber's PC, including the assessment of their PC configuration capabilities, to enabling the member to announce their new Yahoo! Email address to contacts via greeting card and email.
