PeoplePC Honored with Prestigious Award from French-American Chamber of Commerce

San Francisco, CA—June 1, 2001—PeoplePC (NASDAQ: PEOP), the company that makes it easy and affordable to get online, today announced that it has been awarded the “Northern California-Paris Investment Award” by the French-American Chamber of Commerce, San Francisco and the Paris Ile de France Region, the liaison for companies investing in the Paris region.

The “Northern California–Paris Investment Award 2001” honored PeoplePC, along with eBay and Talkway Communications, for their significant and forward-thinking expansion into France and efforts to bridge the digital divide globally. PeoplePC and Vivendi Universal Group’s NetGener@tion program, announced December 20, 2000, is the largest employee connectivity program ever initiated in Europe and is projected to increase Internet usage in France by 3%.
