PeoplePC Enters University Market; PeoplePC's Complete Personal Computing Solution Now Available to 110,000 Students, Employees, and Alumni of Weber State University

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2001--PeoplePC (NASDAQ:PEOP), the company that makes it easy and affordable to get online, today announced it is extending its reach into the university market. Weber State University, located in Ogden, Utah, will promote PeoplePC's personal computing solution through the "PC4U" (PC for you) program to the university's 110,000 students, employees, and alumni in a combination of online and offline media. In addition, as an incentive to participate in the "PC4U" program, Weber State University will offer faculty a $100 refund.

Through this promotion, Weber State University students, employees, and alumni can choose from any of the four bundled computer offerings that PeoplePC provides. All of the offerings include PeoplePC's complete home computing package: a new, name-brand computer, three years unlimited Internet access, round-the-clock customer care and technical support, and member access to online discounts.
