PeoplePC Expands Product Offerings With New Notebook and Enhanced Desktop Computers

(Nasdaq: PEOP) today announced a new, expanded product line to enable all types of computer and Internet users to get online easily and affordably. With the much anticipated introduction of two notebook computers, faster desktop computers with Intel Pentium III Processors, and a new, internet-only PeoplePC Online service for just $9.95 a month, now no one will be left out of the unique benefits of PeoplePC membership. In addition, eligible customers can now finance their selected purchases from PeoplePC, making it easier than ever to take advantage of PeoplePC's products and services.

Based on months of research and product testing, PeoplePC has created the new product line to empower people and give them the best possible vehicle for getting online -- without any of the pain and hassles traditionally associated with large computer store purchasing. The new solutions continue PeoplePC's tradition of providing consumers and companies with one-stop solutions for getting wired affordably and simply. All of the PeoplePC computer packages include unlimited Internet access, phone and in-home customer service, and access to on-line member deals.

Hardware Systems Expanded

Specifically, PeoplePC now offers two laptop packages and, has added an IBM computer with the Pentium III(TM) processor as the high-end desktop computing solution while concurrently increasing the standard processor speeds on its other two desktop systems.

All the offerings also include unlimited Internet access, a three-year limited warranty with 24/7 customer service, and special savings form leading online retail partners. The basic laptop offer is available for as little as $49.95 per month, the enhanced for $84.95 per month, and the new Pentium III desktop for $39.95 per month. PeoplePC continues to offer two other desktop models for $24.95 per month and $29.95 per month. Payments for all computer systems are paid over a 3-year period.
